Economy

Good morning beloved saints, as I am planning to write little blogs on biblical finance, one word that is commonly used in the secular world is called “economy”

The word. “Economy” comes from two Greek words “Oikos” and
“Nomos” literally mean “home law” means “management of the home”

One of the criteria to be used for selection as a Christian leader
Is the “ability to manage one’s home and children well”

1 Timothy 3:4, “ one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence”

I always believe that if one can manage one’s home well; one can manage one’s business well and one can manage one’s country well!”

Mismanagement of one’s stewardship as regards one’s financial state can result in many heartaches, disappointments, breakdown in a home or business or venture. Marriages and children have been
Affected due to mismanagement.

Personally by God’s grace I believe in the following guiding principles from the word of God:-
1) Above all is to honour and
reverent God; Tithing, Offerings and Firstfruit Giving

Deuteronomy 14:22, ““You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year.

V23, “And you shall eat before the Lord your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.

2) To live simple and not simply live

i) Be responsible to work, to honour God, to save, to spend within one’s budget and wisely invest!

ii) I Can’t spend what I cannot afford, I Can’t spend more than I earn, or what I don’t have. Do not practice instant gratification, -everything in hire purchase. Rather prefer saving financing more than debt financing.
“You Can Only Borrow If You Can Afford To Pay Back”

Practice Prudence in all matters and always seek God and trust God for His guidance!

Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

 V6, “In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.”

iii) Always remember one’s consistent cash flow is most important when consider your expansion or new acquisition! “Strengthen Your Stakes”

Isaiah 54:2, “Enlarge the place of your tent,
And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings;
Do not spare;
Lengthen your cords,
And strengthen your stakes.”

iv) Always have one’s finance ready for any outcome or unexpected or sudden happenings!
Have Your Own Contingent Plan ready! For any eventualities that can take place for yourself snd family

The above are few snippets of truth to “chew” upon in dealing with financial management!

Always remember to consult and depend on the fullness of the Godhead for their heavenly counsels.

My quote “The currency in the kingdom of God is not money but the living word of God”

God is our Great Shepherd and Provider Always! Amen
