Good morning saints, I felt to share a few contrasting points between a prudent and a foolish wife

A) In Proverbs 31:30, I believe a prudent wife honours and fears God.

In Proverbs 9:7, the fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.

A foolish man/wife despises wisdom, instruction (discipline).
(Proverbs 1:7)

This person/ wife is unteachable. He or she does not live by the word of God nor the Godly counsel

Proverbs 7:11, “She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house” (KJV)

Proverbs 9:13, “foolish woman is clamorous; She is simple, and knows nothing.”

B) in Proverbs 31:10-31, this prudent wife builds up her household ( husband and children)! The following are the results of her household:-
1) Proverbs 31:27, “She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.”

2) Her husband trusts her or have confidence in her

Proverbs 31:11, “The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.

V12, “She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.”

3) the husband is known or respected and sits among the civic leaders.

Proverbs 31v23, “Her husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders. (NLT)

4) This prudent wife speaks with wisdom and kindness.

Proverbs 31v26,  “When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.”

The prudent wife speaks prudently, judiciously, discreetly, with discretion-able to have the grace to speak and make wise decisions and just conclusion! She is able to exercise self restraint, not acting in rash impulses! She is able to keep in confidentiality!
She does not embarrass nor create any misunderstanding and conflict!

Proverbs 16:23, “The heart of the wise teaches (sakal ) his mouth ( speaks prudently, judiciously, with discretion) And adds learning to his lips.” (NKJV)

The foolish person/wife speaks without thinking Proverbs 7v11, “She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:” (KJV)

Proverbs 15:2, “The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: But the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.” (KJV)

Importantly, a wise woman builds up her household but the foolish tear it down.

Proverbs 14:1, “The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.”

A prudent wife has control over her tongue and her anger Ecclesiastes 7:9, “Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools.”

We all need to learn to control our tongues and our tempers! Ask God to help us not to be easily provoked and offended! Also ask the Holy Spirit to discipline our tongues not to speak rashly, nor speak foolishly!

We are reminded in Revelation 19, we are the bride of Christ and Jesus is our bridegroom! Thus both male and female (the church) is the bride of Christ!

Thus what is written above is both applicable to man/woman and husband/wife

This evening is the Day of atonement or Yom Kippur!

Ask the Lord Jesus to help us and to forgive us from any offences!

Ask the blessed Holy Spirit to help us to control our tongues and our tempers!

God bless and help us to live joyously, gratefully and thankfully for one another during this New Year and years ahead of us.

God loves you
