Good morning saints, the word prudent Hebrew (sakal) can mean success, prosper also mean wisely understand.

In the Book of Proverbs, there are many beautiful descriptions regarding the characteristics of a Godly wife.

The following Scriptures are as follows:-

1) Proverbs 18:22, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
And obtains favor from the Lord.”

NLT, “The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord.”

Truly a man is blessed by God when he had been blessed and favoured by God, when God had blessed him a prudent wife who is truly a great and Godly treasure from the Lord.

2) Proverbs 12:4, “An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.”

The word “excellent” in Hebrew “Chayil” means strength, worth, valour, noble, virtuous, wealth and substance and also as written in Proverbs 31:10-31 describing the manifold virtues of a Godly wife.

3) Proverbs 19:14, “Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
But a prudent wife is from the Lord.”

4) Proverbs 5:18, “Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you. Rejoice in the wife of your youth.”

Proverbs 5:19, “She is a loving deer, a graceful doe.
Let her breasts satisfy you always.
May you always be captivated by her love.”

Proverbs 5 is a whole chapter advising a godly husband to be faithful to his own wife! To be aware from having any other “loose”relationship with other woman.

5) Proverbs 31:10-31 describing the wife of a noble character

Also in 1 Peter 3, Apostle Peter also described about the behaviour of a Godly wife and a Godly husband.

Today I would like to describe some characteristics of a prudent wife in Proverbs 19:14.

A) A Prudent wife is one who respects and reverent God
Proverbs 31:30, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”

Because she fears the Lord, She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.”
(Proverbs 31:26)

Her children rise up and blessed her and her husband praises her
(Proverbs 31:28)

Her husband safely trusts her and she does the husband good and not evil all the days of her life
(Proverbs 31:11-12)

Because of her prudence and the fear of the Lord, the husband is made known and respected!
(Proverbs 31:23)

B) Prudent wife manages wisely well as a good steward! She is diligent and disciplined with her own life, a faithful and honouring wife,
Manages her household as a beautiful home, she relates with her staff and helpers with kindness. She is a wise handmaiden in
handling her time, talent and resources. She does not often relate emotionally to situations, or future events but wisely using her insight and thoughtfulness to think a matter through to ensure success by trusting in God

C) A prudent wife uses her foresight and forethought to anticipate the future eventualities and provide for it! She has thr peace of God in her heart in the midst of chaos!

D) A prudent wife is sensible and intelligent. She keeps her composure and remains judicious at all times. She has the capacity and grace to wisely make decisions and choices and also make just conclusions. She often thinks before she speaks or acts.

Proverbs 16:23,”The heart of the wise teaches (sakal) his mouth,
And adds learning to his lips.”

NLT, “From a wise mind comes wise speech; the words of the wise are persuasive”

This morning I have just shared a few aspects of a prudent wife. She is a precious treasure, her worth is far above rubies.”
