Spiritual Infrastructure

At the Stanford Convention in Singapore, in 1997, God said clearly for me to speak on “Finance and righteousness”. The month after I spoke, the stock market crashed all over Asia.

Asia was known as the “Asia Tiger economy” and nobody expected it to crash. At that time, I was asked to pray for a well known professional man in Singapore. He owed millions and millions of Singapore dollars.  Then God quickened a verse in Obadiah

OB 1:17 But on Mount Zion will be deliverance;

it will be holy,

and the house of Jacob

will possess its inheritance.

In holiness, you shall possess your possessions.  This concept here is very difficult, especially for business men, to understand. Many business men ask, How can I be righteous and holy, yet make greater wealth? There is a lot of corruption in the world and bureaucracy acts as a gateway for corruption.

Dimensions of Blessing

God gave these points to me:

God was coming to bless that year

He blesses us so that we are able to extend the kingdom of God

God blesses us so that we and our families will be richly blessed

Money is difficult to handle: with too little, you cry out to God; but after being blessed, it is more difficult to let ourselves rely on Him.

God doesn’t bless and then destroy

Often we are destroyed, not because of God, but because our infrastructure, our management, and our leading is not right.

Poverty is in the mind

Jesus said to the church of Laodicea in REV 3:17,

You say, `I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

Many agencies in the world today try to eradicate poverty: to get people out of the poverty. But Jesus came to get poverty out of the people. Poverty is in the mind -in the soul area. If the soul can be healed properly, then we are rich. When our thinking is right, our decisions are right. We make right choices. When our thinking is not right, everything is not right. That’s why it is written, 3JN 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you prosper in all things and be in health as your soul prospers. ‘Soul’ means your thinking, your emotions, and your will. Jesus heals from the inside to the outside.

Authority to Bring Change

We are not the product of our environment because we have the Word of God, which applies to every country. Yet you and I can change the environment, because Jesus lives in us and He says for us to call, MT 6:10your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We are here to change our business environment and even the government of the day, if the government is not right. Then we must pray for God to intervene.

A Solid Foundation

When a river flows, it cleans up all the debris. The River of God washes away all that is not founded in God. If you resist, you will lose out. When the wind of the Spirit comes on a nation for revival, anything not deeply planted will be uprooted. However, if we allow God to change our lives, there comes a solid foundation and we cannot be shaken anymore. Yet we must be pliable and transparent. God gives experience so that we can teach from it. Without experience, teaching is only theory.

God Wants Us to Examine Ourselves

Spiritually, are our lives built rightly, on righteousness, holiness and integrity?

Allow God to remove all things that are not of Him. Sometimes, attacks come on my thoughts when the anointing lifts; but it is often God who wants me to examine myself. I don’t assume it is the devil when the thoughts come from within. The devil can throw thoughts to me, but within, I must have an infrastructure to resist them. The devil cannot force anyone to sin because God gave us a will.

Expand and Extend

The next time the River of God flows, make sure that your foundation is right.

ISA 54:2 “Enlarge the place of your tent,

stretch your tent curtains wide,

do not hold back;

lengthen your cords,

strengthen your stakes.

Beloved, listen! God doesn’t need our money. I often challenge you because I challenge myself. I do not have a business. I live by sowing and reaping.  So, I get excited when people are blessed. I never see anyone becoming poorer after they follow God’s ways.

If you want expansion and extension, then you have to believe; you have to sow more; you have to strengthen your stakes; you have to enlarge; you have to lengthen. You cannot hold on to your wealth. If you hold on to it, you cannot see the extension. You and I must have a right infrastructure for God to bless us. That’s why I like Jabez’ prayer

1CH 4:10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

The balance of that prayer was, God protect me that I will not cause pain to you.  I like that. That is the balance of expansion. Expand and yet do not cause reproach to God.  The River of God flows and then it is the time to sow your seeds for the river beds are ready.

Beloved, let me share this! If you don’t listen to what the man of God tells you, and you think you can do it by yourself, and you keep on withholding, you will be by yourself when the River of God flows. You will still be standing there and the river will pass you by.

Let us go to ISA 54:13:

All your sons will be taught by the LORD,

and great will be your children’s peace.

In righteousness you will be established:

Many of you pray this prayer for your children. Jesus is our righteousness.

If you want to set your home right, set it in righteousness

If you want to set your business right, then set it in righteousness.

Everything you do in ministry, if you build on Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, and you build on the pattern of God’s Word, then you shall be established.

Nothing will shake that structure, or family, or business, and or ministry.
