Don’t Give Up! Hang On

Good morning beloved saints,
I was very encouraged when I read in
Luke 1:13, “But the angel(Gabriel) said to him (Zacharias), “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth Will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.”

The above verse said “ your prayer is heard” not past tense but present tense.

Zacharias and Elizabeth must have prayed to God for a child for a long, long time. They did not see the answer to their prayers. By now they have grown in age and they must have stopped praying!

However, Gabriel said to Zacharias, your prayer is heard! Praise God for He remembered what Zacharias had prayed in the earlier years.

Many times the Bible do remind us that God records our sufferings and also bottled our tears and record us in His book!
Psalm 56v8, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. NLT”

I remember George Mueller, a blessed Evangelist who was the director of Ashley Down orphanage in Bristol, England.

In his time he cared for
10,024 orphans and established 117 schools, giving Christian education to
More than 120,000.

One day George Mueller began praying for five of his friends. After many months, one came to the Lord. Ten years later, two others were converted. It took 25 years before the fourth man was saved. Mueller persevered in prayer until his death for the fifth friend, and throughout those 52 years he never gave up hoping that he would accept Christ! His faith and prayer was rewarded, for soon after Mueller’s funeral the last friend received the Lord Jesus Christ.

Finally the following Scriptures do remind us to pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:17, “
Do not cease to pray and also expect God to answer!

Romans 12:12, “rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.”

In NLT, “ Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.”

So be encouraged that God is not late for anyone! His timing is perfect. Delay is our perception of His time.

God bless you
Ps.Sim
