More is Given, More is Expected

Good morning saints,
As I was trying to read the book of Amos, I realised from the word of God—the relationship between the privilege of the Lord is always connected with the responsibility of the truth of His word given to me!

The more one knows of the revelation truth of God’s word, the more one is accountable to the Lord Jesus! This truth can be applied in the working environment.

Judgment always begins in the house of God because the church has been given more light of God’s word than the surrounding world.

In Luke 12:48, “But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

Luke 12:48 New Living Translation, “But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.

This truth is illustrated in:-
Matthew 11:20, “Then Jesus began to denounce the towns where he had done so many of his miracles, because they hadn’t repented of their sins and turned to God.

V21 “What sorrow awaits you, Korazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have repented of their sins long ago, clothing themselves in burlap and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse.

V22 I tell you, Tyre and Sidon will be better off on judgment day than you.

V23 “And you people of Capernaum, will you be honored in heaven? No, you will go down to the place of the dead. For if the miracles I did for you had been done in wicked Sodom, it would still be here today.

V24 I tell you, even Sodom will be better off on judgment day than you.”

In Amos 2:4, “Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of Judah, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they have despised (rejected)the law (word, instruction)of the Lord,
And have not kept His commandments.
Their lies lead them astray,
Lies which their fathers followed.
V5 But I will send a fire upon Judah,
And it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.”

In Summary,
1) The people in Tyre and Sidon, Korazin and Bethsaida did not repent when they have seen the truth of God’s word and miracles.

2) Capernaum was where our Lord started His Ministry—Headquarter- seen so much of the Lord Jesus and yet not repent as compared to Sodom

3) In Judah, God’s people did not obey the Word of God not keep God’s commandments.

Thus the judgment was severe when the Babylonian’s came snd burned the city to the ground! As prophesied by Amos

Finally let us walk humbly and in repentance! The more is given the more is expected of us!

God’s mercy endures forever. Pray that Goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives.

Psalm 23:6, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever. Amen and God bless
